You get super-fast networking, RGB lighting, and great audio. The board still has a good power delivery setup for hitting those boost clocks and even overclocking. You still get some PCIe Gen 4 on one of the PCIe lanes and on one M.2 slot. MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk Motherboard Reviewī550 may be the mid-range, but you still get a sample platter of all the premium features too. B550 is the mid-range option for AMD users right now, with X570 still offering the full-fat experience. They’re not always the most attractive boards either in my opinion, but that doesn’t mean to say they can’t be impressive overall. That means they’ve put the effort into cramming in as much as a gamer could want or need, but still keep an eye on the cost too.

X570 is the chipset not a board it in no way affect cpu performance. It's for sure a higher end board and just better than a fair few lower end x570's.
The tomahawk is by no means a middle of the road board. No problem here at all a b550 tomahawk can handle a 5950x no sweat. So is the x570 really that much better? Like 60% better? Thoughts and criticism welcome, I don’t want to be saddled with meh for the next few years. So did I make a mistake getting a BA CPU and what some are saying is a middle of the road Mobo? They have a few quirks I’m ready to be over (detection of thermal sensors by fan control apps for one). I can afford the x570 boards but didn’t want to and was tired of asus.
